Energy recovery systems

Modern homes are being built as "air-tight' as possible to prevent heat/cool air loss, and are designed with fresh air intake supplies to keep the air at a breathable quality.

Commercial buildings are now required to be built with 15 C.F. M. of fresh air per person for the same reason.

To keep from pressurizing the home, an additional relief vent is included in the design.

We at C. H. S. Services have a complete line of energy recovery systems available ranging from simple plate type to intermediate priced wheel units to expensive heat pump type residential units, and commercial units capable of serving occupancies of over 10,000 persons.

What is the advantage of installing energy recovery systems on your home or commercial building?

The incoming fresh air unless it is at the same temperature as the building, requires energy in the form of either heating or cooling.

The energy recovery equipment takes the incoming air and conditions it with the outgoing air and does so at efficiencies of 75% to 95%.

Depending on the application, and the climate, the potential energy savings can range from 30% to as high as 75%.

On new construction, the costs are approximately the same for smaller heating and cooling equipment with energy recovery as  with in some cases much larger equipment without energy recovery.

The savings are in the operating, repair and eventual replacement of smaller systems.
